SAP Cheif Executives Promise A Return to Double Digit Sales Growth

Bill McDermot and Jim Hagemann Snabe have stated that there will be a new culture of 'fun' and 'trust' installed with the organisation. In addition they have promised to return SAP to double digit sales growth by the year 2012.

Both CEOs are looking towards a restructuring of the company in order to make SAP more innovative and entrepreneurial. During the reign of Leo Apotheker, the former CEO SAPs sales were down 16% and a number of critics have attributed this to both the lack of innovation on SAPs behalf and the company falling behind new technologies.

The companies 12000 engineers are to be re-organised into small entrepreneurial terms of 10 or so that will provide more direct contact with customers and control over their teams. Mr Hagemann Snabe believes that this approach will allow SAP to innovate more quickly and efficiently.

Mr McDermot has stated that SAPs targets for 2010 are 4 - 8% increase in core software sales, achieving an operating margin of 30-31%.

The challenged faced by both CEOs to turnaround the organisations fortunes will be the overseeing of a cultural change, shifting back to the days of development and innovation.
